Good Bye and Hello!

We've moved!

I’ve got this “thing” with linen lately.  Well, not lately, I guess I’ve always had it.  But now that  French General linen is available from Moda I’m a bit more obsessed than I was before.  I love linen and I’ve spent the weekend with it!
I made myself a linen heart sachet to hang in the studio.  Something simple.  Something linen.

Linen Heart
It’s hanging on a wall next to my computer, from an old window.

And then I made a new prototype bunny from my pattern “Five For Brunch”.  She’s linen of course and I gave her lop ears.

I added a little apron, a flower garland necklace, and of course a bunny wouldn’t be a bunny without…
Bunny Tail
…a polka dot bunny tail! I’ve added directions for the apron, necklace and lop ears to the pattern.

I’ll be teaching this bunny on March 5th at Thimble Creek in Concord, CA.  You can make her in just one class. Join me if you can!
And to all of you who read my blog, please stay with me as I work out the changes that are coming.  I’m getting a new “look” and possibly moving my blog to Word Press.  Change is very scary, but I think it will be worth it.  My web site already has a new look and a few more changes are coming to it too.  Many surprises are coming in 2010!
And I haven’t forgotten about the rick rack tutorial for “A Tisket, A Tasket”.  Next post I promise.
Have a great Monday everyone!  I’ll be back soon!

It’s my way of saying THANK YOU to all of you wonderful blog readers, customers, quilters, friends,  animal lovers, and just plain nice people out there!  Thank you for reading my blog, buying my patterns, buying my fabrics, putting up with my attempts at being funny, listening to me go on and on about my pets, my life, and myself LOL!

Thank you dear readers for being who you are!  Each of you unique and exciting!  Here's my little gift for all of you!

Introducing  “SNOWBOUND”, my newest block of the month for 2010!  Please feel free to grab my badge and use it on your blog or Yahoo group!  “SNOWBOUND” is going to be fun!

And, I’ve started a new Flickr group so you can share your blocks as you finish!  Just click on the badge in the right column and you’ll be there!  Join in the fun and make some new friends.  Snowmen warm your heart and “Snowbound” is going to be filled with them!

Snowbound Block One (2)

Remember the fabric I showed you a few months ago?  “Rural Jardin”?  Well, I’ve been using it for “Snowbound”!  It’s the perfect blends of blues, creams and reds.  I LOVE this fabric!

On the work table now

I’ll be posting the complete directions to make this quilt (no, not all the blocks, you have to wait for those), just as soon as we’ve tested the pattern.  I have speed demons who test…shouldn’t be too long.

“Rural Jardin” is coming to your local quilt shop in March.  You’ll have time to get ready should your little heart love this fabric as much as mine!  Or, get creative and choose your own!  Surprise me!

Happy 5th!

Welcome 2010!

I really thought 2009 would bring a new addition to the studio.  It was such a good idea, adding on an extra 400 square ft. of working space.   I began to doubt it several months ago, when plans failed to arrive, deadlines weren't met, and frustrations began to build.  When the plans finally arrived, and the bids came in, the cost was outrageous.  Seems California will never change.  Things here cost more.  We haven’t learned a thing.  It’s a crazy business this one called construction.  Crazy.

So we’ve said no to the addition with almost a sense of relief.  And now I start 2010 with a new goal; Learn to do with what I have and simplify my life.

So welcome 2010!  Tomorrow I will greet you with open arms!

Tonight I say goodbye to 2009 surrounded by the little blessings in my life!

And, as I listen to the fireworks going off outside, I realize I’m blessed to have an old dog who can no longer hear.  Sleep little Bitsy.  Tomorrow is a new year!

Happy 2010 Everyone! It’s going to be a good, good year!
