To Market, To Market!

Our Oregon Escape!

It's been five months and I thought you might like to see where I've been! This is the great room of our Oregon vacation home and I had to look at the picture to remember what it looks like! It's filled with boxes of patterns, quilts, threads, and kitties right now! I leave here for Quilt Market on Monday. I'm taking the boxes, quilts and threads with me, but the kitties stay here with my husband. We'll all go to California together after market.

So, for the next two weeks I'll not be posting. Instead, I'll be taking pictures so you can see Quilt Market and all of my friends! It is just so much fun! When I return from market I'll have lots to share.

I haven't even seen my new house in California finished. My husband told me it looks like a snow cave because all of the walls are white. We'll have to fix that! I'll be reading my new issue of Romantic Homes on the airplane.

My new patterns are on my web site. I knew I would be a bit pre-occupied after market so I listed them early. Some crazy thing is happening with my shopping cart, but my web master will have that fixed on Monday I'm sure. Oh, one more thing I keep forgetting to tell you! I have PDF files available of all the fabrics in my larger applique quilts. If you are searching for fabric I can email you a list (when I return from market).

Have a wonderful two weeks dear readers. Spend time with your friends. We'll be doing the same!

Anne (:

Beary Boys and Girls

Beary Boys & Girls Ready for Market!

Beary Boys & Girls is going to market! That is, if I can figure out how to get the antique bassinet in a box. (: See that fabric in front? It's for the receiving blankets I still have to make. I swear this is the softest flannel you will ever feel. It is a delight to work with and I've designed a baby quilt with it. Yummy, yummy flannel!

Beary Boys & Girls happened quite by accident. Henry Glass had been talking about doing "My Sweet Baby" in flannel and then they asked me if I could just play around with a few little sketches of some other little critters. So I started some doodles, added some flowers, and before I knew it Beary Boys and Girls was born!

Bunny Hill has free patterns so you can make receiving blankets and little stuffed bears! I'll be making pillow cases out of that floral. It comes in green, pink and blue!

Remember I said I didn't want to be known as the baby fabric lady? Well, finally I have a floral line and it's going to market too! "Miss Emma's Garden" will be introduced at Spring Market. I'll be working with it over the next several months and before you know it we'll have some patterns available! Yes, some applique of course and a pieced quilt too. I have to wait for the fabric to ship so patience is something I have to learn. Not easy.

The free patterns are up on our site so here you go! http://bunnyhilldesigns.com/dynamic/?page=Free%20Patterns

The bags are packed?

Jelly Bags! A New Bunny Hill Pattern

I now realize what 5 months of being by yourself, locked in a house can do. Really, it's just been me and the kitties at our vacation home in Oregon. The result is I have 11 new patterns! Eleven! Even my husband can't believe it! Normally I try for six new patterns. Admittedly some of these patterns are small, so technically two of these could count as one...are you following my logic?

Oh, I also forgot to mention that yesterday a huge box of the softest baby flannel arrived from Henry Glass. Yes, it's my new line of baby flannel called Beary Boys and Girls. Today I'm busying making a market display with it, and tomorrow I'll take a photo to show you! Then later in the week I'll add two free patterns to my site...one for receiving blankets and one for a "Beary Bear". Let's see, 11 plus 2, should I count the free patterns? (:

Tagging, pillows, and patterns

It's been one of those days that just keeps going and going! Most of it spent on the computer and that seems to be the plan for the week. These patterns don't write themselves. (Too bad don't you think?)

This morning I had the nicest surprise. I've been tagged by Doe at http://thatsillylildoe.typepad.com/. Now I've found another blog that I just love! She has some cute, cute quilts! Love those 30's fabrics Doe! And thank you for the "tagged" honor. If you hadn't already tagged Elizabeth at http://the-latebloomer.blogspot.com/ I'd tag her again! So, Elizabeth you are semi tagged. (:

Charlotte's Cottage Pillow

Another surprise, a photo back from my photographer Gregory Case, of the pillow that goes with my new quilt pattern called Charlotte's Cottage. The block I used is called Sister's Choice and it's one of my favorites! I thought you might enjoy a little preview. I should have added a ruffle to the quilt! I could get into this ruffle thing, but I don't think I could talk you all into making ruffles for a bed size quilt. Oh well, I'll dream on.

Happy Friday the 13th!

Topsy, our lucky little black cat waiting to move!

Happy Friday the 13th everyone! I am just so excited today I can hardly contain myself! Today is the day we accept our new house! My husband drove to California yesterday, car filled with sewing things, and the most yummy cans of creamy yellow paint. Yes, I'm still in Oregon working on things for market, because who could move in the middle of all this chaos?

I'm beginning to think I couldn't have planned it better. I'm in Oregon and everyone else is in California. Tomorrow they will be carrying furniture into our new home. I may be working hard to get things done, but somehow I doubt I will be as tired as they will be! I can show up after market and just give directions on where I want things moved. Can you believe it? Oh my, I'm feeling sorry for my wonderful family.

The best thing of all is that my husband has promised he will paint my new studio first! Yes, I decided on a creamy yellow. It's by "Devine Paint" and is called Devine Butter. I have lots of white furniture, a pink floral rug and lots of pink "things" to add to the room. I almost went with pale pink walls, but yellow won in the end. I asked my husband to take "before" pictures so I'd have something to show you.

Hope your Friday is as exciting as mine! (:

Tag You're It!

I've been tagged with the Thinking Blogger Award! Does this mean I have to think? Oh NO!

OK, so this postcard is not exactly a tag game, but it's the best I could find! I've just been tagged by Leigh of http://www.cinnamonsticksss.blogspot.com/ and it's really kind of fun. What you have to do is List Your Five Most Favorite and Inspirational Blog Sites! Think about this...if we all list five, then soon everyone will click on those and go from blog to blog and it may never end! Oh my goodness I may have to take my lap top to market! (:

This might be a good thing because I've become very attached to my lap top. I spend all my days in front of it now. The sewing machine is getting dusty, the Pepsi has come out and I have papers all over the place. It's called working on patterns and it's that hardest part! So thank you Leigh, for making me think about something besides patterns! I needed a break!

My Five Favorite Blogs:

This was hard to do, because I love so many! Here it goes...I better get them before someone else does! May, http://www.abyquilt.blogspot.com/ you were already tagged!

1. Brenda at http://web.mac.com/fromlittleacorns/iWeb/Little%20Acorns/Little%20Acorns%20Blog/Little%20Acorns%20Blog.html
Wow look at that blog address. It's all because Bren is so smart and she's a graphic person so she works on a mac. She's a good friend and just wait until you see the new book she has coming soon! She'll have it on her site in a few days so be sure and check back. It's BEAUTIFUL! She is full of creative ideas I know she has a lot more planned for the future. When you see the book you will love it!

2. Pam at http://pamkittymorning.blogspot.com/ I love her blog and she is becoming famous very fast! No one calls her Pam anymore. Her name is Pam Kitty Morning. Talk about the Power of a blog! Not only does she help Elizabeth at Late Bloomer Quilts, but she is so on top of the blog world I am making a list of things to ask her at market. She's the one who got me started and she doesn't even know it! And the best part is she posts almost every day! Yeahhhhhhh Pam! Elizabeth I could tag you too but then Brenda and Pam would kill me!

3. Kim at http://deardaisycottage.typepad.com/daisy_cottage/ This is one of my favorites. Kim has such a wonderful blog, she shares her decorating, her recipes and all of her "finds" with us. I LOVE to read this blog. I come away inspired and amazed. It's like having your own magazine and a new issue comes every day! Thank you Kim!

4. Monica at http://www.thehappyzombie.com/blog/; She is the queen of blogging! It's amazing to me how many people she reaches and her writing is witty and wonderful to read. She was even featured in American Patchwork and Quilting! Thanks Monica for such a wonderful blog. Keep it up!

5. Julie at http://littlecottonrabbits.typepad.co.uk/my_weblog/; If you go to her blog you will immediately know why I love it. She is one of the most talented people around. Her creations are so precious! I love everything she makes and everything she writes. Thank you Julie for having such a wonderful blog! If you click on her blog links you will find many more fun blogs. She may not be able to carry on the award, she has kids home from school this week. We'll understand Julie. Just know I love your posts!

Happy Easter Everyone!

A Vintage Easter Postcard!

It's Easter and today we are celebrating long distance. Every year we have all our grand-children over for an egg hunt and brunch. It's a tradition, but this year we are 400 miles away in Bend, Oregon. We shipped little treats in a priority mail box, but it's not the same as those cute little baskets! So to all of those readers who have to celebrate long distance, we know how you feel. We'll all have to settle for voices over the phone and pictures later. I'm thankful for all the blessings in my life and I know I'll be hugging little ones very soon. I hope you will be too! (:

And Baby Makes Three!

Welcome Miss Emma Katherine Jolly!

Brenda (Acorn Quilt & Gift Company) and I have been pacing the floor for the last few days, just waiting for our friend Kimberly's little girl Emma to arrive. Kimberly & Kevin own http://www.fatquartershop.com/ and I'm sure most of you have had a chance to visit their wonderful site. Well now they have a new baby girl, born April 5, weighing 7lbs, 9 oz.

We'll miss Kimberly at market this year, but she has the best reason ever to stay home. To add to the excitement, Brenda and I are going together to visit her in July! We'll get to meet Emma and hold her. Austin here we come! Welcome little Emma!

Happy Easter From Bunny Hill!

Here's a little chick from our new pattern called Strawberry Hill. She's stopping by to say Happy Easter to all of you. Hope it doesn't rain on your egg hunt!

This is my favorite weekend of the whole year! It's just so exciting to see all those bunnies! Chocolate ones, stuffed ones, real ones, and that famous one dressed in the costume for all the kids to see! How many do you think there are? Well, here at Bunny Hill we're busy adding to the number of bunnies. We've come up with a tiny little wool bunny holding a bitty pin cushion. You'll be able to make her very soon if you have some scraps of wool laying around because she's coming as a new pattern at the end of April. Yes, that pincushion is a little thimble. She'll keep you company while you're quilting! She's tiny, only 5" tall! Happy Easter everyone! (:
