Inspiration in the mail!
Oh, I am so excited I had to share this little book with you. Amazon recommended it to me because they know I buy lots of decorating books. They can always count on me to buy something. It's a good thing Amazon doesn't keep track of the number of sales, like EBay does. I'm sure I would have 5 stars after my name and I'd be a power buyer!
This little book is wonderful! I'm going to read it page by page and then I'm going to read it again. When I'm done you'll find it on a bedside table in my new house. It's just too pretty to hide and too good not to share. It's full of vintage ideas, including a postcard garland that is too cute!

To make a new home old
After looking at the model home, and the loft that I will call my studio, I have a lot of work ahead of me. The room is big and has plenty of space but, I have to take this room and make it look old! I can’t work in a “new” studio!

A New House and A New Year
I’m in big trouble. We went to visit our new house yesterday. It’s twice the size of the one we have now. Somehow the foundation looked so small to me! After seeing the model, my son suggested we actually measure to make sure it was the same size. They tell me that when the walls go up our perception will change. I hope so because I’ve been looking around at my so called collections and realize I am having a hard time parting with any. Not only can’t I part with any, but my list is getting longer.
So here’s my plan…
I absolutely can’t buy another “collection” piece before we move. I will have to lock myself up but so what? I’ll get more designed that way! I am banned from EBay, antique stores, yard sales, and any web sites that have cute stuff. No rabbits, chocolate molds or lambs, even with Easter right around the corner I can’t give in.
Group your collections and it makes them more interesting! 32 chocolate molds in the dining room could make for great conversations on holidays. When I buy the hutch to display them in, that’s all my husband will talk about. He has no idea what’s coming and I don’t let him read my blog so I’m safe for now.

Collecting
Queen of Collecting:
I have officially been crowned the queen of collecting by my grandson. You aren’t really a collector until someone with such authority says so. When he made the announcement at Christmas when we were alone in the kitchen. It’s a good thing, because if my hubby had been there this story could have gone on forever! My grand-son decided he would like to own my rooster collection some day. I agreed, thought about his future wife (can’t you see it?), and then decided it was time to weed out some of my collections.
We are moving to a larger house next year, leaving our little cottage. We will be in a house double the size we have now, and surely I can part with a few things! Can’t I? I’m sure I can don’t you think?
A few of my collections:
Roosters
Rabbits (go figure)
Snowmen (see photo below)
Chocolate Molds
Old tablecloths
China (vintage, new, chipped, & worn)
Mercury glass ornaments
Little glass jars
Pincushions
Postcards
Sheep
Cats
Sewing machines
Books
Magazines
Old quilts
Fabric
Fabric
Fabric, did I say fabric?
